Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) Due October 18

Expect enhanced 3D desktop effects and easier installation of browser plugins, but the most useful feature (to me anyway) is going to be printer installation — printers are automatically configured for use as soon as they are connected. I hope network printer installation is also simplified. We shall see. [Updated 10/19/07; 0130 hrs.]   The mirrors have been busy, but I finally got in to one in Minnesota (they go to bed early up north — specially this time of year) and got a copy. Reports confirmed my earlier statements; it’s much too late to mess with it now myself — the excitement just isn’t enough to keep me awake. g’night.
