We’ve just added a new device to the Video Services department (my cube) here at Network World: A Sony DSR-11 DVCAM Digital Videocassette Recorder. What’s cool is the player handles both Mini-DV and DVCAM tapes. Most of our Network World content is shot on Mini-DV, but our Demo.com content is recorded to DVCAM. It’s nice to have one device to handle both. Plus, now I don’t have to use the Canon GL1 we use for filming as a playback device, saving some wear and tear. If you’re doing a lot of digitizing from Mini-DV or DVCAM, I highly recommend the Sony DR-11.
