Not only are service providers expanding capacity, but they’re also adding additional services such as ad insertion capabilities. AOL recently bought Lightningcast in an effort to up its ad serving ability and Google will begin offering video ads soon. This week, VitalStream got into the game by scooping up Eonstreams, a privately held company that has developed ad insertion software for streaming media. The stock deal was worth about $17.5 million.
