The long and the short of Google Hell

Forbes has a revealing look at Google’s “supplemental index,” which is better known as “Google Hell” to those with a stake in the search engine’s rankings. The magazine, almost as if fearful of having its own site condemned, includes this exculpatory analogy: “The search juggernaut is faced with the endless task of reading and ranking the ever-expanding Web’s billions of pages, the equivalent of putting the Earth’s population in order from tallest to shortest every few minutes.”
