3Leaf announces x86 Dynamic Data Center Server

3Leaf Systems announced Tuesday the future availability of its Dynamic Data Center Server (DDC-Server) for AMD Opteron processors featuring the 3Leaf DDC-ASIC combined with DDC-Software. The ASIC and software combination is available in OEM-ready versions and certain fixed configurations are available for end-user purchase. A DDC-Server configured with 1TB of shared memory, 192 cores of AMD Istanbul processors at 2.8GHz, and 8TB of storage connected via an InfiniBand switch and complete with cables, Linux OS and DDC-Pool software lists for $250,000. A DDC-Server with 256GB of shared memory, 96 cores of AMD Istanbul processors at 2.4GHz, 4TB of storage with an InfiniBand switch, cables, Linux OS and DDC-Pool software is listed at $99,000. Shipments are expected to begin in December 2009.
