* Mimosa identifies data leaks, monitors certain employees
Mimosa Systems this week launched software that allows IT to identify potentially risky or illegal behavior in e-mail systems before they turn into litigation.
Mimosa’s content monitoring system lets IT watch for violations of corporate policy and meet compliance requirements within the e-mail system in near real-time fashion. It can alert management to risky behavior.
The NearPoint Content Monitoring Option software identifies data leaks and can be set up to monitor certain employees. Content Monitoring is based on Mimosa’s NearPoint grid architecture. A Wizard allows IT to create policies for monitoring or data retention. Within the Wizard, IT can set alerts and monitor audit logs. The Policy Wizard also allows IT to monitor all Exchange content and select the mailboxes that need monitoring. Monitoring policies can be set up for message tagging and access granted to only specific individuals.
Additionally, the Content Monitoring Option matches sampled messages and attachments against a lexicon of keywords or search syntax specified by the administrator. When a message’s content matches the lexicon, it can then be marked for review based on policies the administrator has set up.
Three kinds of reports are available, including Compliance Reports, Review Action Reports and Policy Reports.
The Content Monitoring Option integrates with Windows Active Directory. The software requires Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server 2000 and .Net Framework. It is available now.
