About a week or two ago, Network World ran a good segment by Jon Brodkin…actually it was more of a slideshow with accompanying text…called, 20 Useful IT security sites. It did contain some of the best online resources for information security. If anyone missed it, check it out here.
I already had most of them bookmarked, except for the useful site providing instructions on how to survive a robot uprising. However, it is now in my favorites, and I feel prepared to take on any Roomba or ASIMO insurgency (although if they’re T-1000s or any Cyberdyne Systems robotics…we’re screwed).
Since I didn’t see a way to bookmark these sites without scrolling through the entire slideshow, I thought it would be useful to present the sites in one list. I wanted to simplify their bookmarking, but I didn’t think my blog would support any scripting. Using my obsolete HTML skills, I tried to embed something like:

…but no success.
Maybe someone will create a simple add to favorites link. For now, you can bookmark them by hand.

In case you forgot, a simple right-click of your mouse should bring up a menu containing an “add to favorites” option, or a somewhat similar command, depending on your browser. In case you didn’t forget, because you never even knew, stick with your keyboard and use the appropriate bookmark setting key-sequence. For further assistance, refer to your user manual, or review one of the excellent references on keyboard shortcuts, which can be found at shortcutguide and computerhope.
In addition to the good listing of security sites, I would add: Network Security Journal, and personal favorite, GRC.
