endif; ?>So, how does SIP fit into the bigger picture? As a protocol it fits into the overall architecture as a vertical resource that supports the full range of UC functions: Communication enabled business processes (CEBP) to unified messaging (UM) to instant messaging (IM) to VoIP. In fact one of the great values of SIP is its universality and simplicity that supports all communication functions. Of course, this also means that all functions operating over SIP are susceptible to SIP vulnerabilities and attacks we’ve been discussing this week. Bottom line is protecting SIP also protects the entire communications stack.
