Branch-office growth predicted to rebound

Growth in the number of branch offices has averaged roughly 10% year-over-year for the past five years, with the exception of 2009, when branch-office growth declined by 3%, according to Nemertes Research. But watch out: IT organizations are predicting that by 2010, branch-office growth will rebound, to an average of 17%. And branch offices are becoming smaller, as well as more distributed. Frequently, they’re “microbranches” comprising fewer than five individuals. Support for these microbranches requires a different approach than the traditional one. Now’s an excellent time to begin planning your microbranch management strategy.
