Growing demand for extending telepresence

Cisco recently introduced a telepresence directory service, enabling its customers to schedule inter-company telepresence sessions. Nemertes finds growing demand for extending telepresence beyond organizational borders, with twenty-seven percent of organizations adopting telepresence. Key drivers include the ability to reduce, or offset falling travel budgets, and the ability to improve collaboration for virtual teams. Telepresence, unlike other meeting technologies is perceived as suitable replacement for in-person meetings, especially for senior executives.

Enterprises should evaluate Cisco’s telepresence directory, as it allows customers to further leverage their existing and planned telepresence deployments to establish sessions with additional partners and customers.
