Juniper hosting announcement at NYSE next week

Juniper and the New York Stock Exchange are hosting an event next week to announce that they will “invest in a next-generation, best-of-breed financial trading network, designed to deliver one of the world’s fastest quote and order fulfillment/execution response times for several billion daily transactions,” according to a media alert from Juniper.

Juniper CEO Kevin Johnson will be speaking there, as will Hitesh Sheth, executive vice president and general manager of Juniper’s Ethernet Platforms Business Group; and David Yen, vice president and general manager of the company’s Data Center Business Group.

Initial speculation is that Juniper and NYSE may announce a 40/100G Ethernet deployment for the new trading network. Juniper just announced a 100G Ethernet router interface for the T1600 core platform; and NYSE recently announced it is running a 100G optical transmission network with Ciena equipment.

The announcement takes place on June 24 at the NYSE, 11 Wall St. Any guesses?
