Nemertes finds companies that use MSPs tend to have some common characteristics. Moderate (39.3%) and conservative (28.6%) IT staffs are more likely to use MSPs than those that are aggressive (25%) or bleeding edge (7.1%). This makes sense, given that aggressive and bleeding edge organizations often have more in-house expertise, and they have fewer employees, on average, when compared with moderate and conservative organizations.
