IBM reclaims top supercomputer crown for U.S.

It took 16,000 processors to do it, but IBM has finally taken the title of the most powerful supercomputer on the planet away from the Earth Simulator built by Japan’s NEC. What’s more, this supercomputer is only a small prototype of a version IBM plans to deliver next year that will be eight times as big.

Leucadia sells shares of MCI

Leucadia National this week sold all of its MCI stock. The conglomerate filed an 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stating that it sold its 5% stake in the carrier. According to the document the sale brought in a pre-tax profit of about $20 million for Leucadia.

Microsoft open sources Web authoring application
