The FCC is investigating claims by VoIP provider Vonage that telcos are purposely dropping VoIP calls from their networks.

Chair Michael Powell says he believes the problems may lie with rural LECs and not the big guns.

“We’re very actively on this case and we are taking it pretty seriously,” he told Advanced IP Pipeline.
