College researchers say the way you type can be used as another layer of security on your computer.
Louisana Tech and Penn State, which collaborated on the project for five years, have already signed a licensing agreement with BioPassword to further develop the software.
Researchers say the way your typing style is unique enough to determine identity, and should be used in conjunction with passwords or other security devices.
“We look at the time between keystrokes, and the time it takes to press a key,” Vir Phoha, Louisiana Tech associate professor of computer science, told the AP.
