When Sunday night rolls around and you find yourself with that retro “I have school tomorrow” dread that makes you feel like you’re 12 again, you’re not alone.
Jared Sandberg of The Wall Street Journal looks at the phenomenon and says 1) It happens even if you like your job and 2) There are many theories on what causes it, ranging from Buddhism to control issues.
Some worker bees who acknowledge the weekly bummer try to make the night more bearable, from saving favorite reading for the night, ensuring good lighting or eating grilled cheese (“Never underestimate the healing power of melted cheese,” advises Francine Maroukian).
If you’re a Sunday sufferer, Sandberg’s column is a good read.
