The Old Gray Lady has lost her mind.
Zipping across the wires today is the news that The New York Times has bought About.com for $410 million.
We sincerely hope that 410 million is in pesos or magic beans because About.com is barely worth $410 American. The NYT just overpaid by $409,999,590 for outdated content from pedestrian “experts” all set inside maddening frames. Yee haw. This better be like “National Treasure” and there’s a billion dollars in artifacts, gold and heirlooms hidden under About.com HQ.
This is good news for the tech industry: Things must be getting better if dollars like this are changing hands for junk like that.
