More proof that blogs are on Minute 14: Oscar über-producer Gil Cates’ Producer’s Blog. This seems like a run-up to an inevitable Cates memoir on producing the world’s most famous awards show that no one outside of California really cares about.
Anyway, if boring, name-dropping, behind-the-Oscar-scenes nitty gritty if your thang, you’ll enjoy Cates’ musings. (Unfortunately, Cates doesn’t mention any of the good behind-the-scenes Oscar dirt of years’ past [see Houston, Whitney]. That’s our thang.) We did enjoy the ridiculous thumbnails that accompanied some of the entries, like:
