Like many a retired (voluntarily or not) former tech exec, Krauskopf has turned to a second career of the legacy variety.
The 41-year-old former ‘Net whiz kid was co-founder of Spyglass, which beget Mosaic, which was leased by Microsoft and became the ever-hole-y Internet Explorer. Krauskopf pocketed many, many shekels and went on to work for other tech firms, until he found himself laid off by Motorola in 2002.
“I was determined to do something to pull myself out of the intensity and to decompress,” he told the AP.”I wanted a change of pace.”
Krauskopf decided to find that slower pace in trucking. He learned how to drive big rigs, then came a professional driver, and eventually founded his own company.
