If you want to save your company some scratch, don’t go to a trade show to see the latest technology goodies – just watch “24”. As we talked about a couple weeks ago, CTU headquarters – the main set for “24” – is tricked out in cutting-edge tech within an inch of its life. There’s VoIP and desk-to-desk videoconferencing, and now there’s biometrics.

Biometrics Direct is so excited about its upcoming product placement on the show, it’s issued a press release to tout the fact that its iGuard (above, click to enlarge), IP biometric security appliance “will again be featured throughout the rest of the season as a security device onscreen in the CTU and the Presidential Bunker.” Sweet.

Now, back to the VoIP phones. Readers have been writing in, noting that the handsets featured on the show are Cisco’s IP Phone 7960G.
