You know a product is wild when you and several co-workers independently receive the press release, then immediately send around a series of “Oh my head, did you see this?” e-mails.
Such was the case yesterday when we were alerted to the existence of ITWorkTimer 1.1 from Russian software company ITPremium. Free employee monitoring and tracking software, ITWorkTimer 1.1 is without a doubt the most frightening product we’ve ever encountered.
According to the release: “ITWorkTimer tracks every single application being opened by an employee. In addition, the program takes screenshot every ten minutes randomly, so an employee can not possibly know when the next screenshot will be taken. The program also tracks the number of keystrokes and mouse movements during the same time period….Another convenient feature of the program is a minute by minute breakdown of the entire workday.”

However, we have to wonder about ITPremium. Its Web site lists one other product, aside from ITWorkTimer – Online Casino.
