N+I can have its John Chambers keynote. CES can enjoy Bill Gates. This week’s CTIA show in New Orleans is going beyond the pale (and all reason) by hosting a keynote by Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.

“It is an honor to welcome Sean Combs to the CTIA stage. He has revolutionized the hip-hop world and altered the face of pop culture with his innovative and visionary endeavors,” said Steve Largent, President and CEO of CTIA.

So, naturally, he’s an obvious choice to lecture wireless experts. Oh, wait, there’s more: “Sean has found great success in music, movies, Broadway, fashion – seemingly anything he becomes involved in. I look forward to hearing his plans for success in the growing mobile entertainment and wireless content arenas.”

Please, God, we don’t ask for much (Ed. – Well, not in the last hour): Please let one of our NW colleagues down there cover this. We need fodder for tomorrow.
