The University of Michigan study also found that:
- 40% said there should be a law that prohibits people from talking on cell phones in public places such as museums, movie theaters and restaurants.
- 80% said cell phones are a major safety hazard if used while driving.
- 80% said cell phones have made their lives easier.
60% said e-mail has made their lives easier.
“These findings suggest Americans have mixed feelings about cell phone use,” Michael Traugott, a researcher at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research, told the AP.
That’s why Traugott gets the big bucks. Only a trained researcher could have reached that conclusion.
