Network World columnist and Layer 8 pal Linda Musthaler wrote an interesting column for the mothership this week that’s worth your time. She advocates IT professionals take a Hippocratic-esque oath to reflect the critical nature of their work and restore confidence in IT: “I will do my best to provide the means for my clients to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently, and I will not intentionally impede their progress.”
Linda emphasizes the “not impeding progress” part with a couple of real-life examples, and says it’s time for IT pros to get beyond that us-against-them (your users) stereotype.
