Earlier this week, we sashayed into colleague Tim Greene’s office to talk “Deadwood.” We hadn’t seen Tim since Season 2 debuted and wanted to know what he thought of the first three episodes.

Here’s how it went:

“Hey, so what did you think of-“

“AH! STOP! NO! NO! DON’T SAY ANYTHING! I’VE ONLY SEEN THE FIRST EPISODE!”

Funny, just a couple of days later, USA Today runs a cover story on how DVR technology is killing day-after TV talk in the office. With DVRs and cable operators’ On Demand, just because a show is on, say, Tuesday, doesn’t mean you’ve seen it and will be prepared to talk about it Wednesday morning.
