When you’re traveling, it’s easy to get flustered or frenzied and misplace your phone, PDA or even your laptop. That’s why, according to one traveler who checked out the lost-and-found room at an airport car rental agency: “It looked like Best Buy was having a garage sale.”
USA Today pens a story today on missing gadgets and, more specifically, how to keep them from going missing.
A few hints:
- Keep crucial documents on a key chain USB drive, and store it in your suitcase.
- E-mail your documents, client contacts and trip schedule to yourself to make the information easy to access from a borrowed computer.
- And our favorite: Notice details about your taxi, such as company name and cab number, in case you lose something. “Let’s see, it smelled and had no shocks. Does that help?”
