We truly wish Google would stop making legitimate, big announcements on April Fool’s Day. Last year, the behemoth unleashed Gmail into beta, leaving everyone saying, “Really? Yes. Are you sure? Yes. Seriously…really?”
Today, Google says it’s expanding the already-ginormous storage capacity of the free e-mail accounts to 2 gigs.
“Since we introduced Gmail, people have had a lot of place to store e-mail, but some of our heavier users have been approaching their limits and have been wondering what’s going to happen,” said Georges Harik, Gmail’s product management director.
Um, who are these people? What are you doing with a free e-mail account that you need that much space?
