Is Fox fibbing about HD?

Is Fox pulling a fast one with its high-definition broadcasts of “Malcolm in the Middle”? That’s what the gurus at OnHD.tv think, as the popular comedy is advertised as being shown in HD: “However, the program’s picture looks duller than an evening with Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.”

So, what’s the deal? OnHD’s Phillip Swann has a theory. Like many teens, star Frankie Muniz has a big acne problem. Unfortunately for the 19-year-old, unlike 99.9% of teens, he’s a television star. OnHD thinks Fox is fibbing about broadcasting in HD and is also not shooting any close-ups of Muniz to save him from the harsh light of high-def.

“It could be just his dumb luck that Fox decided to go high-def at the same time his teenage hormones started to rage,” Swann writes.
