Blogging about work has turned into an action of idiocy on par with clicking on every free offer and come-on that lands in your inbox. It’s information-age Russian Roulette.
But, says the venerable Electronic Frontier Foundation, it doesn’t have to be that dangerous if you stick to a few ground rules. If you’re dying to share your hilarious, touching or fascinating work life, the EFF says to stay employed avoid blogging about politics, unionizing, whistleblowing and any work you do for the government.
“While your right to free speech is protected by the First Amendment, this protection does not shield you from the consequences of what you say,” writes the EFF.
