
Some industry experts think so and say converged cell phone/digital music players could be the gadget to take town the tiny white army.
“The balance of power could tip suddenly and dramatically, especially if Apple doesn’t race to get its music technology into cell phones,” notes The Wall Street Journal.
But why a cell phone? Because people carry them all the time. The WSJ quotes research stating “76% of those asked said they carry a cell phone regularly, while just 7% said the same about a music player.”
SonyEricsson’s already released a Walkman phone and Motorola has announced three music phones on the way.
