Sure, a laptop is a laptop, except for the super-cool ones that can blow stuff up.

U.S. troops in Iraq will soon be equipped with laptops that function as remote-control detonation devices for mines. How has this not yet been featured on “24”?

USA Today reports that by June, the Army will be able to pick out an individual mine from a minefield of hundreds and explode it wirelessly by pushing a computer touch screen many yards away.

The Army will deploy a defensive perimeter of mines, known as Matrix, around the northern city of Mosul. Army officials say these new “smart mines” will eliminate deaths and maimings via accidental detonations.
