E-filing had its best year ever in 2005, with more than half of all tax returns filed electronically.
The IRS says nearly 66 million returns were e-filed: 46 million were from tax professionals, 3 million by phone and nearly 17 million from home computers.
Total e-filings were up 10.7% over last year and filings from home computer was up 17%.
Visits to www.IRS.gov have doubled this year to 111 million so far.
