Last year we told you about a survey that showed 70% of Brits would trade their password for chocolate. It turns out the Colonies aren’t that much better.
The Register reports that two out of three people approached on Market Street in San Francisco shared their password for a $3 Starbucks gift card. Of the one-third that declined to say it outright, 51% gave a hint so they could get the gift card.
Have these people no sense of honor? They should have held out for a $10 gift card.
Other interesting tidbits: 57% said they have four or more passwords and 79% use the same password for multiple Web sites or apps.
