Firefox celebrates 50 million downloads

Firefox has passed 50 million downloads and to celebrate the Mozilla Foundation has issued a commemorative coin to those who have done the most to promote the open source browser.

A coin?

The BBC reports the coin was designed by a Foundation volunteer and only 50 were made.

Again we ask: A coin?

We’ve never worked for a tech company, so this could be common practice in those circles, but to laity like us, it seems an odd choice.

Regardless, who wants to set the over/under on the number of days before one ends up on eBay?
