According to The Register: “The bogus warnings were frequently accompanied by system crashes on machines running Mac OS X.”
Well, maybe that was the wrong quote to use as it gave away the punch line. See, Norton somehow released a “rogue virus definition update” that triggered the false positive on those running OS X.
You gotta love Macs. Even when they get a “virus” it’s a false alarm.
