The bane of a travelers’ existence (besides being at the mercy of the airlines or Amtrak) is how to keep the dirty clothes separated from the clean clothes in the suitcase. We were in Vegas last week, where stepping inside a casino for a half-second will leave you smelling like an unfiltered cigarette for days, and encountered this very problem. The smelly clothes had to be put in the same suitcase as the dirty clothes, but you don’t want to prematurely stink up what you have yet to wear. Sure, plastic bags can work, but that’s tacky.
Now there’s the Flight 001 Spacepak, which comes with a nice silk interior that easily separates the clean from the dirty – and you can look good in the process. And, the maker claims it will compress your packed clothes, doubling the space you have. If the Spacepak could iron your wrinkled dress shirts too, it would be the greatest invention of all time.
