Telecommuters are still getting a bad rap from their in-office colleagues, who think the remote worker is napping all day and not pulling their load. Of those that work from home, 38% believe their office colleagues are “skeptical about the amount of work they do from home,” according to a survey from IBM’s Institute for Business Value and the Economist Intelligence Unit. Three-fifths of home workers compensate by working longer hours than they would being in the office. Don’t we know it… between getting laundry done, watching “The Price is Right” and keeping up with soaps, we have to put in extra hours to get our work done.
Granted, the people who think telecommuters are faking the work are probably the same people who think business travel is a company-paid vacation.
