Director shoots entire film with cell phone

An Italian director has shot an entire film with his cellphone.

What’s it called, “The Dark, Blurry Story”?

Not quite, as Marcello Mencarini used the $600 Nokia N90’s 2 megapixel camera to shoot the 93-minute film “New Love Meetings.”

Mencarini says the documentary was shot mostly in close-ups due to the len’s range – or lack thereof. Yet he claims that works well with the film, which is about “love and eroticism.” Yowza.

For lighting he used a pocket flashlight. The phone had enough memory for about an hour of footage, which had to be transferred to a computer about every two days.
