Did you ever want to work at Disneyland – or World – like us?
Boarding and disembarking passengers all day is probably boring as hell, but you get to wear a cool costume. There are two rides we’d love to run, and one of them is Pirates of the Caribbean. We’ll let you guess the other.
In honor of the Pirates sequel debuting today, check out this 1976 operator’s manual from Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean.
There’s some interesting/funny info in here, like how many gallons of water are in the ride, boat speed, the number of audio-animatronic pirates, villagers, animals and birds, and the (then) record for number of passengers in one hour.
And did you know they “enhanced” the ride with the addition of Captain Jack Sparrow from the movie? Requisite You Tube video of the changes here. Pretty cool.
