Old IT coots still ‘valuable’

  Apparently there’s been some buzz about stating that “mature” IT pros aren’t worth squadush. Not so! reports some analyst, who notes not only are boomer IT pros not going to retire en masse, they’re actually valuable in a variety of ways. Like, “Marv, tell me what COBOL was like…” OK, we kid. “The top third of older workers presents no management problem; these workers’ eagerness to learn new technology requires only encouragement and access to tools,” states one expert. Yes, they represent no management problem, as long as you keep an adequate supply of bran muffins in the breakroom. Via The Register
