NFL, SNL consider Webcasts

The No Fun League, which is screwing with our ability to enjoy games like last night’s Bengals-Ravens tilt thanks to its standoff with our cable company, now says it will Webcast live games to Verizon’s FiOS and DirecTV television and Internet subscribers. Again, we still will not be able to see the damn games. Time to look into FiOS. And, in a Webcast we actually could see, Saturday Night Live is considering streaming its Friday night rehearsals on the ‘Net. According to The Hollywood Reporter: “Sometimes it’s a lot more interesting than the show,” NBC Universal chief digital officer George Kliavkoff joked, referring to the closed-circuit footage of ‘SNL’s’ Friday dry runs viewed at NBC headquarters. You think he really was joking?
