Sendmail creator: Just lazy or legit complaint?

Eric Allman says if he knew how much work Sendmail was going to be, he never would have created it. Well, dude, that horse has left the barn, hasn’t it? “To be honest if I had known how much work it would have been I would probably never have agreed to do it,” Allman tells technology law podcast OUT-LAW Radio. “It was harder to write than I expected. Most people who have worked on this sort of thing say the same; it looks deceptively easy till you actually get in to try and do it.” Funny, we say the same thing about Layer 8. What does suck for Allman is he created the most popular e-mail routing system on the planet and wasn’t paid one red cent. Via The Register
