Official ‘counseled’ over e-mail language

An Arizona county press flack is being “counseled” for his use of inappropriate language in e-mail. Bill FitzGerald, spokesman for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, is in lukewarm water for his e-mail exchanges with an Arizona State University professor, in which FitzGerald called the man a “condecending (sic) oaf” and told him to “get lost.” FitzGerald also used the term “half-assed”. Gotta say we’re kinda rooting for FitzGerald so far. “Some of the language is inappropriate, and Bill is going to be counseled and if necessary appropriately disciplined in regards to his reaction,” noted Barnett Lotstein, special assistant county attorney. If that gets Bill in trouble, we’d be absolutely sent to prison over our colorful e-mail vocab.
