Microsoft violated the Creative Commons licence under which Niall [Kennedy] posted a picture on Flickr, using it on one of their many commercial blogs and failing to give Niall a photo credit (he published it under a non-commercial, attributable licence). They also violated Flickr’s bandwidth by hotlinking the image … So what did Niall – a former Microsoft employee – do? He swapped the image for one that was rather less savoury, but guaranteed to get his point across.
