Apple certainly seems like a responsible, green company, but not so according to Greenpeace, which ranks the well-loved

cult

company dead last in its second Green Electronics Guide. How bad is last? Well, Sony – home of exploding batteries – ranked five slots higher. The guide “ranks leading mobile and PC manufacturers on their global policies and practice on eliminating harmful chemicals and on taking responsibility for their products once they are discarded by consumers.” Greenpeace notes Apple shows “low scores on almost all criteria and no progress.” We’re thinking the only thing that could have been worse is if it were revealed iPods were made with whale skin or baby seal cubs.
