University allows second data breach this year

This story is the St. Louis Post-Dispatch mentions nothing about consequences for the University of Missouri’s IT department, but you can’t help wondering given that the massive data breach they’re dealing with today is the school’s second this year.

The 2004 report (containing 22,400 Social Security numbers) that was hacked “should have been purged out of the system,” said a university spokesman. “We wish it had been and regret that it was not.”

Someone’s going to really, really regret it, don’t you think?
