Day 11
Checked the job boards this morning. Nothing new. Sent an email to Molly Morrissey at MSI Systems Integrators to follow up on her email to me on Monday. I was left with the impression that I would hear back that day and hadnt heard anything.
Didn’t want to commit to any interviews until I had heard from them since they had contacted me at the beginning of the week.
Now it’s later in the day, and I havent heard anything back from MSI Systems Integrators. Would have appreciated the courtesy of a response. Won’t hold back on scheduling interviews for Friday.
Had a meeting with a new recruiter. He informed me that the position I came to talk to him about I suddenly wouldn’t be considered for. Felt like that was a bait and switch.
He said companies only look at the past 7 years of experience. He also really trashed another recruiter that I had talked to. He also said that he would send me some contract employment situations and that I “would” accept them, even if they were less than what I was looking for, such as desktop support.
Really felt like I was being forced into doing something that wasn’t in my best interest. He then proceeded to say that when a permanent employment situation came through that I could quit/walk away from the contract situation.
Ethically I have a problem with that. I was also taught that when you sign a contract that you honor the terms of that contract. To either just not show up and call in and say you won’t be back is disrespectful to the company where you have been on the contract situation.
