Another quiet day on the job boards. Found one position that I may be overqualified for, but at this point I am looking at all options.
Anyone who says the economy isnt in a recession has their head in the sand.
Has an interview with a local engineering firm. The interview wasn’t quite what I had run into the past. I initially sat down in front of the department manager. After answering his questions, two others from the department came into the room and proceeded to drill down into not only what I had on my resume, but also explored all areas of my knowledge to see where I was strong and weak.
Felt drained afterwards, similar to what I felt like when I took my CCNA exam. It was stated up front by the manager that the company tries to keep a balance between work and home life – something that is very important to me since all work and no play can make you very dull.
I was told at the end of the interview that I would be contacted by Wednesday or Thursday if was going to be called in for a second interview.
Looking at the company’s Web site, I found a list of benefits that would be hard to beat. Will be keeping my fingers crossed that I hear more from this one.
Exchange phone calls with the local Blue Cross Blue Shield affiliate trying to get the permanent health insurance in place.
