If you’re going to deploy Gigabit Ethernet to your desktops, you’re going to need 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections out of the wiring closet. Foundry Networks decided the WAN access router market wasn’t quite crowded enough. The company used this week’s NetWorld+Interop trade show to take the wraps off its own set of products, much of which will go head-to-head against Cisco.

Cisco beats Q3 estimates by a penny

Cisco posted third-quarter pro forma earnings a penny better than expectations, on revenue in line with those expectations.

Internap integrates route optimization acquisitions

Internap Network Services, best known as an IP provider that offers route control services, is flexing its product muscles at NetWorld+Interop. On Tuesday, it launched Version 3.3 of its Flow Control Platform plus two products that integrate features from the equipment it gained through its acquisition last year of route optimization appliance vendors Sockeye Networks and netVmg.
