These products will be combined with Metrowerks’ CodeWarrior products.Embedix is led by Matt Harris, the attorney credited with engineering the antitrust settlement Caldera brought against Microsoft in 1996. The company was founded by Bryan Sparks, the current owner of DR-DOS, the product that spurred the lawsuit, as well as the founder of Caldera. Until the company restructured in September 2001, Embedix made embedded operating systems, as well a clustering product called Availix, which interconnected CompactPCI and storage devices into a highly available cluster. The acquisition, whose value was not disclosed, is expected to close shortly.
